APPLYING FOR NURSERY EDUCATION FUNDING ONLINE

2 year old Funding (15 hours)

All entitled 2 year olds should receive a letter before the term they are eligible (the term after they turn 2), if you don’t, its worth contacting your local Children’s Centre. Eligibility criteria can be found by clicking here.

Universal (15 hours) and Extended (30 hours) for 3 & 4 year olds

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to the universal (15 hours) funding. Below you’ll see a breakdown of when your child is entitled to their NEF. You must apply online for the code to receive the additional (extended) 15 hours to total 30 in all, this must be done before the end of the previous term, please click here.

We ask all parents claiming funded hours for their child to follow the below link to complete a Parent/Carer Agreement Form for Nursery Education Funding each term. The form is mobile enabled. Please ensure you have read all the instructions on this page before applying.

Please make sure you know the correct hours your child attends, these consist of either 3 or 6 hour sessions. In the picture below you can see this person is claiming 30 hours in total. The first 15 hours must go down as Universal, (unless you claim those or part thereof at another setting), any additional hours are either Extended, if you claim 30 hours, or are paid for. Don’t forget to add in any hours you claim at another setting.

You will still need your National Insurance number and any funding codes. If you claim 30 hours you need to ensure you have renewed or made your claim for you code before the end of the last term (the actual number remains the same). If you are 2 year funded you do not need to renew your code, it lasts for the year however, everyone who wishes to claim Government Nursery Education Funding for their child must complete a Parent Agreement for each term.

It will also ask you for our OFSTED unique reference number, this is EY469136.

Please note, when you have to add in your child’s start and end dates they should be the dates for the term. e.g. Autumn - start 01/09/2023 end 31/12/2023, Spring - start 01/01/2024 end 31/03/2024, Summer - start 01/04/2024 end 31/07/2024.

The year will obviously change according to when you are claiming for but the other dates stay the same even if your child is new to joining us and their start date is a couple of weeks into the term, this is because new starters have to be timetabled in a few at a time. If you join us part way through a term only then would your start date be further into the term.

Please do contact us if you have any problems, we are well aware funding can have people banging their heads against the wall… us included.

Please remember that if you do not complete your funding form by the required date your child may not receive funding for their hours and you will be charged.

Don’t forget to apply for your 30 hour code before the end of each term for the following term, your number stays the same but you MUST get it renewed for it to be valid.

If you need any more help please ask at the gate or email us clophillpreschool@gmail.com.
