Clothing & footwear

Your child must be dressed appropriately for each session: we’re outdoors all day, every day in all weathers. If your child is not appropriately dressed we reserve the right not to accept them into the setting. If your child is not properly dressed they cannot access all that our preschool has to offer.

Every child must come to each session in the following:

Autumn term (September to December) and Spring term (January to March)

Base layer

Mid Layer

  • Fleece or Clophill Preschool sweatshirt (ask a member of staff to order uniform)

  • Leggings or tracksuit bottoms with elasticated waist making it easier to get on and off for the loo

Outer Layer

Accessories - children will need each of the below:

Summer term (April to July)

Base layer

  • T-shirt

  • Shorts or light cotton trousers/joggers

Mid layer

  • Fleece or Clophill Preschool sweatshirt (ask a member of staff to order uniform)

Outer layer

  • Waterproof coat and dungarees for rainy days and wet play - these must be brought in every day and children come dressed in them if its raining

Accessories

  • Wellies (see above)

  • Sensible closed toed shoes or trainers - Example of Decathlon walking boots

  • Socks (no trainer socks please)

  • Preschool legionnaire’s hat (ask a member of staff to order uniform)

  • Sun cream on before they arrive please

Please check the weather before coming out, while we try to cover all seasons we cannot account for all that the British weather throws at us.

Please don’t use all-in-one puddle or splash suits as they’re tricky for children to get in and out of themselves and are usually not waterproof. Please don’t buy snow boots, they’re often not waterproof.

f you are two-year-funded for government supported families, your child will receive EYPP (click here for eligibility criteria) or you are in receipt of Disability Living Allowance for your child then preschool will provide your child with free waterproof coat and dungarees.
