Admissions

We welcome children from all areas and all families, we are an inclusive practice that treats each child as an individual and works with families to provide the best support, education and care that we can. It is our intention to make our preschool accessible to all children and families from the community of Clophill and surrounding areas, to provide a clear admissions process and understanding of how we run and to provide a settling in process tailored to each child and their family.

We accept children aged 2, 3 and 4 years.

For children who share their time between us and another setting, with parents permission, we will share information accordingly. We hold a weekly Stay & Play session, every Tuesday 9:15 - 10:30 to support settling in for those children with a confirmed space who have yet to start. A key worker is allocated to each child and their family when they start with us.

Each term we look ahead to future terms and year groups and we decide when to offer up spaces for upcoming academic years. The procedure for this is:

  • decide on the number of available spaces

  • decide a date for an Open Day and advertise this on Facebook, our website and newsletter

  • following the Open Day we open our ‘registration of interest’ form on the website, parents can then apply for a space for the advertised academic terms

  • we will respond to parents within 5 working days and if we have availability we will offer them a space

  • if parents are offered a space, they must respond within the allocated time frame given on the email or their details will be removed from our list and they will have to reapply should they still wish to have a place with us

  • to secure their child’s space, parents must pay a Placement Fee of £100 within 3 working days - this should be paid via BACs, details can be found in your offer email (we offer a reduced rate for people in receipt of certain benefits etc and a sibling discount)

  • if the fee is not paid in this time, we cannot confirm their space

  • parents will be offered a space for the academic term, closest to the one they have requested, which has availability

  • parents do not have to have visited to secure a space for their child

Occasionally spaces may become available within a term that has previously been full, in this instance we may refer to our waiting list and contact people to offer them a space. Once again, they will be asked to secure the space by paying a Placement fee.

Placement fees for academic year 2024/25 are currently £100, of this £25 is deposited back to the parent when the child starts with us, if the child does not take up the place then none of the £100 is refundable.

Once your Placement fee has been paid your child will be guaranteed the minimum number of sessions for their starting term onwards.

You will be added to our Newsletter email group.

You can attend our settling in Stay & Play sessions every Tuesday 9:15-10:30 once your child is 18 months or above and confidently walking.

You will be contacted before your child is due to start to make a request for sessions, we will confirm availability via email.

You will be sent an email with a start date the term before your child is due to start with us.

PLEASE NOTE - OUR EMAILS OFTEN END UP IN JUNK OR SPAM FOLDERS SO PLEASE CHECK THESE REGULARLY FOR OUR EMAILS.
